It’s been 8 years since I first visited Gypsy Gold Horse Farm in Ocala, Florida. My friend Kathy arranged a shoot there with friends and owners Erin and Dennis Thompson. Those photos are some of my all-time favorites and have been licensed for various purposes.
So when I was returning to Ocala this winter, and another photographer friend, Susan, suggested we do a shoot at Gypsy Gold, there was no hesitation – it was an easy yes!
I so enjoyed seeing Erin and Dennis again and photographing three of their stallions: GG Kiss Me Draper (Tommy), GG Kiss Me Legends (Fate), and MMV Sharp Dressed Man (Ziggy)
We got stuck in traffic on the way to this shoot, so we had to work fast before the light faded. The horses put on a great show for us, running through the sand paddock, kicking up dust into the golden late-day light.
