Skijoring in Minnesota

Feel the rush of adrenaline as horses race down a snow-covered track, pulling skiers and snowboarders over jumps and around obstacles in an equestrian sport called “Skijoring.”

This course was set up on the race track at Canterbury Park, Minnesota’s thoroughbred racing facility. Skiers and snowboarders were pulled behind horses, some going as fast as 40 miles per hour. Teams race side-by-side, maneuvering through gates and around obstacles, picking up rings along the way.
