I’m honored to share that this image received 1st Place in the Freelance Editorial Photograph category at the 2025 Equine Media Awards, presented by American Horse Publications (AHP). These annual awards recognize excellence in equine journalism, photography, and media, and draw entries from top professionals across the industry.

This photo was taken during a shoot I planned specifically to grow my Equine Stock Library. As the rider quietly tacked up her horse, a single beam of light poured in from a high window. I paused what I was doing, adjusted my angle, and captured what felt like a perfect convergence of light, form, and atmosphere. I knew instantly I had something that could speak to the professionalism and care found in equestrian life.

For brands and publications focused on horse health, veterinary care, or premium tack, this image offers a clean, high-end aesthetic with a strong sense of place and purpose. It’s incredibly rewarding to see that kind of intentional, crafted work recognized by industry peers.
