I believe wedding photographs should be both beautiful and documentary.
My passion is to create photographs that will bring you back, not just to the way your wedding day looked, but more importantly, to how it felt. Because I want you to be able to remember vividly the love and friendships that made your wedding day so special, I focus on documenting key moments and true, heartfelt emotions
DEFINING YOUR MEMORIES
Weddings are a time to enjoy friends and family and celebrate the beginning of your life together. They are also full of a lot of activity, and can pass by in the blink of an eye! How will you remember the feelings, people and moments of your wedding day?
A bride whose wedding I recently photographed, shared with me that the photos I created for her now define her memories from that day, and trigger the real ones stored in her own heart and mind. This is the essence of why I approach weddings the way I do.
Instead of taking a cookie-cutter approach to every wedding and creating the same images over and over, I make a special effort to know each couple so I can tell their genuine story with the photographs I create. I go into each wedding with an open mind and heart so that I can be free to document their wedding in a way that truly reflects who they are.
RELAXED AND NATURAL
Because I feel it is very important to create photographs that portray the real feeling of the wedding day, I work quietly, using mostly available light. I like to keep directed photo sessions relaxed and natural, working with couples to help them look their best in front of the camera without making them feel too posed or contrived.
A DAY TO CELEBRATE
Your wedding day is a time to celebrate love with friends and family, and while I believe that it is important to take formal photos of the people closest to you, I don’t believe it should consume a large portion of the day. I generally photograph around 15-20 casual group family photos and spend about 45 minutes with the bride and groom alone and 20 minutes with their bridal party. The rest of the day is for celebrating!
KEEPING IT PERSONAL
I like to get to know my couples well during pre-wedding meetings so that on the wedding day I'm a friend whom they can be completely comfortable around. This allows me to blend into the day and help keep it relaxed and fun. Plus, I enjoy making new friends. :)
Because it is important for me to give my clients very personal attention and create photos that are fresh and inspired, I limit my bookings to around 16 weddings per year.
